The Alienware 18 is coming back, other laptops updated

Dell has gone ahead and refreshed the hardware inside of its Alienware gaming laptops, while also bringing back the massive Alienware 18. New features are also being added in, including support for USB Type-C and even Thunderbolt 3. However, the laptops aren't being updated to Intel's new Skylake platform, sticking with 4th generation processors.

The new Alienware 18 is set to be one beast of a laptop, with an Intel Core i7 CPU, up to 32GB of RAM, plenty of storage options and dual GTX 970M or GTX 980M graphics chips. All SSDs in the new range will be of the PCIe variety, which will offer a boost in speeds.

Curiously enough, the Alienware 13 and Alienware 17 laptops will feature Nvidia graphics chips, while the Alienware 15 will also have the option of an AMD R9 M395x. Another curios thing to note is that the Alienware 13, 15 and 17 all come with Windows 10 as standard, while the Alienware 18 still comes pre-installed with Windows 8.1. Though this may be down to recent SLI issues on Microsoft's latest operating system.

As always, the Alienware 13, 15 and 17 start at $999, $1999.99 and $1499.99 respectively. The Alienware 18 on the other hand makes the jump to $2499.99. Alienware UK has yet to be updated with the new line up gaming laptops, so we aren't sure on UK pricing just yet.
