Asustek Computer has unveiled the world’s first and only curved ultra-wide 34” display with 100Hz refresh rate and Nvidia Corp.’s G-Sync technology. The monitor with unique combination of features was designed specifically for gamers and will hit the market in the coming months.
The Asus ROG Swift PG348Q comes with 8bit+Hi-FRC in-plane switching (IPS) panel with 3440*1440 resolution, 172°/178° horizontal/vertical viewing angles and 100Hz refresh rate. The monitor will be the first ultra-wide 34” curved display in the market that combines very high resolution, 100Hz panel as well as Nvidia G-Sync technology, which matches monitor's refresh rate with a GPU’s rendering rate on a frame-by-frame basis to provide smooth gaming experience.
Asustek Computer did not reveal a lot of details about its ROG Swift PG348Q monitor, but it is logical to expect the new flagship Republic of Gamers display to have DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI interfaces as well as a USB 3.0 hub. The new ROG Swift also boasts with an ultra-thin frame as well as tilt, swivel, and height adjustments.
The manufacturer did not reveal when exactly it plans to release its unique display, but it is likely that the product will become available in the coming months.
Asus did not disclose the price of its ROG Swift PG348Q monitor, but expect it to be over £1000/$1300/€1300, given its exclusive combination of features as well as lack of direct rivals.

KitGuru Says: A 34” 100Hz IPS display with 3440*1440 resolution and Nvidia G-Sync seems to be a great choice for gamers, who also want to enjoy fine colours and viewing angles. The price of the product will naturally be prohibitively high, but 100Hz refresh along with G-Sync may be worth it for many gamers.
Almost there! 144Hz and then I’ll take it.
How is this the first 34” Widescreen display while the Acer X34 – with exactly the same specs – has been unveiled over a month back?
Edited – youre correct. sorry – they are the same.
Mate, this screen has the exact same specs. This screen is NOT 4k, it’s a 3440x1440p, exactly like the Acer X34. Read the first line of the second paragraph once more…
Yep already edited…
And when this comes out the X34 should be cheaper..
No problemo 😉 – and yes hopefully!! I wish LG and Samsung would enter the competition to put more pressure on Acer and Asus.
120hz and i’ll take it 🙂
So close to 120Hz! Now we just need better pricing. Hopefully next year these types of monitors start going for <$1000. If this was $999 today i'd buy it. But i'm almost certain it will be $1400.
We also need BenQ. They have dropped off the map since their glory days of the TN 24″ 144hz monitors 2-3 years ago. I know BenQ has released a 35″ but its 2560x1080p 🙁
This will be an amazing display in one year when it has DP1.3 and support for 144Hz+. It’s really hard to go from a 144Hz IPS GSYNC display down to just 100Hz. Even though everything else about this monitor is drool-worthy.
Looks nice I’d drop no more than $1200 on it since its a fair price for it heres a boss pic for it
It will be $1400 minimum. I’m hoping next year these start dropping under $1000.
That would round out the perfect monitor for sure. But what about price? Hopefully they release a none gsync version without the lights and a normal adjustable stand for under $1000. These ROG series always carry a high $$$ premium.
Honestly I’ll just take it. 100hz is still a huge improvement over 60 and you need a crazy good machine to hit 144 FPS at this resolution with all the goodies turned up.
I think I’ll be ok with the 100hz .. Hoping the price isn’t too steep.
my 1080p 3D projector has 120…… and a screen of just over 110 inches…… and cost me about a quarter of that price…. just saying, id actually rather just stick to that for now and use my 4K TV when i feel i really want to experience the extra graphic quality of a new game

Hello logical person! 100hz should be plenty.
Im reading and its not exactly the same. The Acer X34 is said to be capable of overclocking to 100hz while this new Asus display seems to be starting at 100hz by default. Would this effect some people’s decision to buy either or? maybe.
That’s right! Jeez, for a couple hundred £ less I’d even settle for 75hz…
.
Jeez for a monitor that will probably be over $1300, I wish they make these things look classy instead of something that escaped from a teenagers bedroom in the 1980’s. The back of the monitor and that stand with a light in it looks VERY tacky. Less is more guys.
Yeah but your projector is lower resolution and doesnt have Gsync.
Its using the same display panel as the Acer so has identical specs. I’m betting the reason the Asus isn’t out yet is because theyre actually fixing all the problems BEFORE they release the monitor, unlike Acer who just threw it out there then had to do a recall.
Awesome looking monitor, reminds me of that Alienware curved display from 2008/9 that was like $8,000 at the time.
3D screens always work at double the refresh rate because they are displaying 2 images, but after the filtering in the glasses you get 1 image so it’s 60hz 🙂
42 of my face book gamer friends all voted. they would pay no more that £600 for it. It’s just an Asus, and the Asus under bezel control system sucks, possibly worse in industry !
The stupid stand is just silly, and unless it can swivel the screen to vertical its just a worthless style over substance gimmick.
Wonder if Mattel design the toy stand.
unless your game runs above 100hz then g-sync is worthless and your wasting your money. Then your back to the woes of vsync.
But inclusive of freesync of course. Since that is where most monitors will be heading 2016.
Right. Gotta have a beefy system if purchasing this monitor… Gaming is so expensive nowadays.
like porn to my eyes
execpt the price, oh god the price
they dropped the ball on this one
Where’s the freesync version? Was hoping there’ll be an equivalent asus freesync to acer Xr341ck but with a wider freesync range.
Ehhh…no. gsync syncs the frames all the way down to 1. Its a the lower fps gsync shines the most. Anyway 100hz alone will eleminate most of the visible tearing.
The asus comes out the box with 100hz, acer with 60 or 75hz. But its the same panel being used. My guess is the asus will be more refined than the acer x34, hopefully with better quality controll.
Placed the order yesterday morning my retailer in the uk has already sold 14 of its 40 allocated units, my wife said this had better be able to make breakfast too or I’m out! 😉
no it is 1500.00 dollars listed I saw on Origin site
