Divinity: Original Sin 2 gets more stretch goals

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is continuing to dominate over on Kickstarter, with most of the previously announced stretch goals being reached. Now, Larian Studios has added a few more to the mix to encourage extra funding. Now, the stretch goals run up to the $2 million mark.

Right now, the campaign is sitting at $1,383,439 with 18 days left to go before it all wraps up. There are four new stretch goals in total, covering $1.65 million, $1.75 million, $1.85 million and finally $2 million.

The first new stretch goal will add in dedicated mod support, which would be very nice to see as it will give a chance for the community to get involved with the game and come up with additional content or make changes where they see fit. The next stretch goal is called ‘Love and Hate', at this point, we will see the studio create a dynamic relationship system, where you can fall in love or develop rivalries with characters.

The next stretch goal will see a shapeshifting mask added to the game. This item will allow you to change your race at any point, which will open up new play style options with the same character. Finally, if the campaign hits $2 million, a dungeon master mode will be added in to the game, which will be an in-game editor for building custom dungeons.

While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.
