The Arkham Knight ‘interim’ PC patch is now available

Yesterday, we got a brief look at the upcoming Arkham Knight PC patch. Described as the interim patch, setting the stage for the last wave of fixes to hit later on in the year. Now, that patch is officially available, adding in several fixes, mostly focussing on graphics and gameplay options.

For starters, frame rates above 30 are now officially supported and the rest of the graphics options menu is more fleshed out, with more options for motion blur, higher texture quality amongst other improvements.

Here are the list of things improved in this new patch:

  • Reduced frame-rate hitches.
  • Optimisations for system memory and VRAM usage.
  • Improved performance on all GPUs (requires the latest drivers).
  • More comprehensive in-game settings.
  • Fixed low resolution texture bugs.
  • Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD).

The next patch will include some more fixes:

  • Adding support for SLI and Crossfire.
  • Adding support for the latest DLC and Season Pass content.
  • Adding support for additional updates such as Photo Mode.
  • Continued improvements and bug fixing for a Windows 7 specific memory issue that occurs on configurations with 8GB of system RAM and some Nvidia GPUs during extended game play.
  • Continued improvements for Windows 10 specific issues on systems with some AMD GPUs.

The game itself remains unavailable for sale but it looks like now, the game might finally be playable for many. We will be revisiting Arkham Knight ourselves once the final patch is out to see if the game is finally up to scratch.

KitGuru Says: Since I like to play my games at 4K, I'll need to wait for the final multi-GPU fixes in the final patch before I can finally dig in to Arkham Knight. Hopefully once everything is cleared up, the game will finally be worth the time. Are any of you still waiting to play Arkham Knight? Will you be waiting for the final patch to come out?

  1. Gonna wait for the final patch (considering I run@4k with SLi 980Ti G1’s)

  2. Now im going to buy my GTX 980ti and get this game 🙂 running @ 1080p/2k so one card is enough.

  3. It’s decently playable for me now, as long as I only use one of my 970s. Turning SLI on tanks performance. Glad that they have SLI/Crossfire compatibility listed in the things that they’re working on.

  4. How are you finding the SLI 4K experience with those 980 Ti’s?. I am just waiting for my second GTX 980Ti to add some more balance to my system as I have my Samsung U28D590D and a single GTX 980Ti but I’m not a fan of tweaking settings. Maxing games out minus Anti Aliasing must net 60 FPS almost in every game

  5. Yeah the Ti SLi setup is great and lets me max out pretty much everything (I don’t use AA, I have the Philips 40in 4k monitor). Please note though that these are HOT when in SLi, I’m tempted to switch my top card for a Hybrid to keep things in check a little more! Next on the list for me is a nice G-Sync monitor, although the Philips is gonna be hard to come away from. Especially as I have it overclocked to 70Hz it’s nice and smooth B|

  6. It’s funny, I’ve 80 percented the game by slowly working through it over the summer. Other than a few/infrequent crashes while in the Batmobile, it looked and ran fine for me. It was a pretty nice game too.
