Skull and Bones to finally launch in February

Stop me if you've heard this one before … Skull & Bones finally has a release date. While Ubisoft hasn't announced it officially yet, playtests are underway ahead of a supposed February launch.

After a huge number of delays, Ubisoft finally seems to be getting its online pirate game, Skull & Bones out of the door. According to Insider Gaming's sources, Ubisoft has settled on a new February 16th 2024 release date, pushing the game out just ahead of the end of the fiscal year, in keeping with Ubisoft's previously outlined plans.

Ubisoft hasn't confirmed this release date yet but with February being just around the corner, we can expect an official announcement sometime soon. The game may also no longer release at $70, as previously planned. Pre-orders on the Ubisoft Store now sit at £49.99 and $59.99 for the game's standard edition.

When the game does arrive, it will be releasing for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5, leaving previous-gen consoles behind, which is kind of funny, because the game was originally announced as an Xbox One and PS4 era title.

KitGuru Says: While this game did look interesting once upon a time, I think its moment has long passed. We'll have to wait and see if Ubisoft can surprise us. The game is going through playtesting at the moment, so we may well start to see impressions through leaks at some point.
