Beyond Good & Evil is returning to the spotlight. No, Ubisoft isn't giving us an update on that long-announced sequel, but we are getting a new remaster for the original game.
Rather than unveiling details about the much-anticipated sequel, Ubisoft has chosen to revisit the roots of the series by remastering the original game. The Beyond Good & Evil remaster is set to hit the shelves in early 2024, boasting updated graphics and performance settings, alongside compatibility with modern gaming consoles.

The Xbox Store listing confirmed that the 20th Anniversary Edition will deliver 4K/60FPS gaming on current-gen consoles. However, the remaster will also be hitting older systems like the Xbox One and PS4, as well as the Nintendo Switch. The remaster will also be heading to PC, updated to take better advantage of modern hardware.
Ubisoft has not announced a specific release date yet but promises to share more details soon. As it stands, the release window for Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition is likely to fall within the first quarter of 2024, aligning with Ubisoft's fiscal year-end.

KitGuru Says: Without any news on the future of the series, I'm not entirely sure how much anticipation there is going to be amongst fans to go back to the original game once again. Beyond Good & Evil has already had re-releases and the game is not being remade from the ground up to truly fit in with modern titles. However, if we knew the sequel was coming soon, then there'd likely be a good audience looking to go back to the series' roots to get up to speed before jumping into the new game.
