Cablemod is recalling all V1.0 and V1.1 12VHPWR angled adapters

Cablemod has recently issued a recall on all V1.0 and 1.1 12VHPWR angled adapters due to safety concerns. If you happen to be using one of these adapters, it is recommended that you cease using it and send it back.

The company has also stated that it will no longer sell these adapters. However, it should be noted that this issue does not apply to angled cables. A safety recall has been issued for various products, including the 90-degree and 180-degree variants and versions 1.0 and 1.1. The company has released a statement via social media and on its website. Further details will be shared soon.

Although the root cause of the recall is still unknown, CableMod has acknowledged that the connection may become loose, leading to overheating and, in some cases, melting. If you use the affected adapters, stop immediately and avoid handling them while the system is running. Before disconnecting the adapters, make sure to turn off the system.

The 1.1 version, launched in October of this year, was initially offered for free to those who purchased the original from the official store. However, users were required to pay for shipping costs.

KitGuru says: Are you using a Cablemod 12VHPWR angled adapter? Will you replace it with a new one from another manufacturer, or will you connect the PSU cables directly?
