The Steam Machines are finally out, so Valve’s having a sale

Around two years ago, Valve announced that it would be trying to tackle PC gaming in the living room, with its own version of the Gamepad, along with Steam OS and Steam Machines. All three of those things have now finally arrived after much debate and tweaking, so in order to celebrate, Valve is promoting some SteamOS compatible games with a sale.

Obviously when you buy a game on Steam, it runs across multiple operating systems, so this sale isn't limited to SteamOS users. Highlights of the sale include Alien Isolation for £15.99, The Witcher 2 for just £2.99, Shadow of Mordor for £10.99, along with a bunch of other worthwhile titles.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Steam winter sale is right around the corner, so for some of the bigger titles, it may be worth holding off a bit longer. The full sale can be found, HERE.

KitGuru Says: If you have yet to play The Witcher 2, Alien Isolation or Shadow of Mordor, then they are definitely worth taking a look at. There are lots of good indie titles in the sale too so they may be worth taking a look at. Do any of you own a Steam Machine or Steam Controller yet? I've been thinking about potentially getting the Steam Link myself, though I am undecided at the moment.

  1. I’ve asked for the Steam Link for christmas from the missus 🙂

  2. Is anyone else wondering how this announcement came in so far under the radar? I read tech news EVERYDAY and I hadn’t heard a single peep from Valve about this. Not even so much as a leak or a rumour about availability. Either Valve has the worst marketing ever, or even they aren’t confident it will sell.

I know it will fail so hard, but this is still so very very strange, ESPECIALLY after all the delays.

  3. I STRONGLY suggest you read the reviews first. I have….
