Batman Arkham Knight has re-launched on PC, players still reporting issues

Batman Arkham Knight officially re-launched on the PC yesterday after four months of patching and extra development time over at Warner Bros. However, it would seem that some players are still running in to problems with the game, with complaints landing on Steam and Reddit. It would seem that some are still having frame rate stability, stuttering and crashing issues.

Warner Bros is aware that some problems remain with the PC version of the game. Those on Windows 7 may experience a hard drive paging issue after extended gameplay sessions, while it is recommended that those on Windows 10 have at least 12GB of RAM in order to operate without hard drive paging issues, which causes frame rate stutter.

While it was initially believed that the final patch would include a final round of fixes, including SLI and CrossFire support, it has now been revealed that this is still being worked on, though we don't have a time frame just yet. Warner Bros is also working with AMD and Nvidia to address stability issues with the game with the latest batch of drivers.

From my own personal experience with the re-launched version of the game, things seem much improved. However, I am running a very high end rig with a 5820K, 16GB RAM and a GTX 980Ti. I'm not sure what the experience is like for those with other hardware configurations

KitGuru Games: Omni-movement culminates 30 years of FPS innovation

Black Ops 6 is officially here, bringing the innovative new Omni-movement system to the game. While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.

  1. Cant say I have had any issues with it, even since launch…. not had a single crash or slow down / stutter… played it on a couple of different configuration machines too….

    Main one is an i7-860, 16GB DDR3, Radeon HD7950, and Windows 10….

  2. If you have paging turned off on windows 7 do the problems still occur ? The way things are going it’s probably going to be another six months until it is fully finished and working for everyone. I’m running a GTX 970 and 4790K on a QHD monitor so I expect the game will still need some optimisations for me to run it at a decent framerate.

  3. 12GB RAM 😀 what kind of shitty programming is this? The fail is strong in this one. Glad I didn’t buy it.

  4. I actually downloaded this but haven’t yet played, as for sure I’ll experience issues (2 x 295X2 and 64GB RAM on windows 10). I’ll wait til they officially announce Crossfire support and a PROPER fix. Shame really… People will have lost a lot of confidence with these developers.

  5. This game performance is pretty hit and miss. With a r9 280 and a pretty old i5 this game was BAD at first, the very first patch (after 2-3 days) fixed everything. I was lucky enough to finish the game a long time ago…

  6. Same for me. i7-950, 12 Gig DDR, 2 X EVGA GTX 980 SC and Windows 10 Pro. No prob at all.

  7. I’m running W10 with paging disabled, and 16GB RAM – not seen any issues, see above for rest of system specs..

  8. While this game’s release history has been disappointing, I don’t think you’re in any position to be commenting about the quality of the game’s programming seeing as you obviously don’t have experience with programming at this level.

  10. Ah right, the only people who are allowed to give critique are the “qualified experts”, and clearly I cannot be qualified based on two lines of comments on a random website. That makes total sense.

  11. Feel free to critique the game as a gamer, but don’t critique it as a programmer unless you have experience with the programming elements being discussed.

The article said 12 GB RAM to avoid page-filing. If page-filing is a term you’re not acquainted with, then you’re not qualified to talk about the game’s programming.
