MSI is branching out in to headsets this year, with the brand new DS502, a gaming headset featuring 7.1 virtual surround sound, high quality drivers and Hi-Fi sound quality. The DS502 headset offers premium build quality, lightweight and ergonomically designed with a self-adjusting headband which ensures a comfortable fit during extended gaming sessions
Aside form comfort and sound quality, users will also be able to set up any environment effects or virtual surround sound with the bundled Cmedia Xear software, which also includes a 10-band equalizer so advanced users can get the best sound possible out of the headset.
A gaming headset wouldn't be complete without a microphone, so there is also a noise-cancelling, omnidirectional microphone attached. In-line controls are present and MSI has slapped its famous dragon logo on the ear cups.

I personally prefer well known brands such as Sennheiser, Bose or JBL when it comes to audio products, They may not be having gaming specific audio products, But they do sound good universally for almost everything. I have used razer headphones in the past and they sounded really bad.
Very true none of these gaming headsets are any good. The frequency response range is narrow, too many gimmicks with multiple tiny drivers and stuff. Get a pair of quality cans from brands like you mentioned, pair them with a good surround sound tech like Dolby Headphone’s virtual 7.1 surround and you have the best experience in-game for surround sound gaming as a well as watching 5.1 or above encoded movies. Use the same cans for listening music with or without DD headphones switched on.

No so true, i have bought the set and its amazing, for 50$ its the best so far that i had.
With a large range to adjust the audio and a clear mic, msi didnt disappoint my expectation. Maybe im fanboying this but you neet to try before you say bad things about msi.
You probably are not fanboying, just unaware of the importance of proper frequency response range.
“You get what you paid for” adage holds very true for high-end audiophile grade cans. You should try some out at your local store to feel the difference. Some of those gaming cans like Astro, Razer are purely costly ripoffs aimed at the uninformed. The informed buyer gets best audiophile grade headphones for the budget and pairs that up with a very good sound card with Dolby Headphone HRTF 7.1. This will give you the best Virtual Surround gaming experience. Tiny multiple drivers found in these gaming cans are nothing more than failed gimmicks. A large well made pair of drivers with great HRTF tech on sound card yields an experience that you must experience in person to believe. The best part being unlike weak multi driver based gaming cans, audiophile cans can give you great music enjoyment with the HRTF switched off on sound card while you don’t game.
You are right I dont have much experience with headphones a specially with 7.1 hedset.
Most of the time i wear in-ears so i can only compare with what i have.
