Super Nintendo World to add ‘Donkey Kong Country‘ area

In recent years we have seen Nintendo expand outwards beyond just video games, with the entertainment giant partnering with Universal Studios to open up a dedicated Super Nintendo World within Universal’s parks. Nintendo World is set to get a massive upgrade next year, with the Japanese branch adding a dedicated Donkey Kong area to the park.

As reported by YTV.co,jp (and translated via DeepL), Nintendo is set to introduce ‘Donkey Kong Country’ to its Japanese Super Nintendo World park, greatly expanding its size and adding more theme-park-related attractions.

Donkey Kong Country will reportedly be 1.7 times bigger than the current Super Nintendo World, due in part to the addition of a “roller coaster-type attraction” which will of course be heavily themed to fit the series it is based on.

Alongside the announcement, a brief trailer was released showing a digital approximation of what fans can expect from Donkey Kong Country when it opens up in Spring of 2024. Speaking on this latest expansion, the vice president of Universal Studios Japan said:

“We hope you will look forward to a new experience where adults and children alike will be enthralled, be themselves, and get super-excited as they search, discover, collect, and be amazed by unpredictable experiences.”
