The Finals has surpassed 10 million players in just two weeks

Embark Studios' burst onto the scene this year with its new multiplayer shooter ‘The Finals'. The game's beta was a huge success in October, amassing over 7 million players. The game had a surprise launch earlier in December, opening the floodgates for all players to jump in. Now, Embark Studios has announced that the game already has over 10 million players.

Within a mere two weeks of its official launch, “The Finals” has crossed the 10 million player milestone, placing it in direct competition with some of the most successful multiplayer games currently available, even in the wake of a new Call of Duty release.

Steam Charts statistics reveal that the game has consistently maintained over 100,000 concurrent players, ensuring a seamless matchmaking experience for users. With that in mind, the future success of “The Finals” appears promising. We'll be hoping that Embark can continue to add new arenas, weapons and gadgets throughout 2024 to keep the game fresh. As this is a free to play game with a huge amount of success already, Embark will also need robust anti-cheat measures in place to keep the player base from souring.

Notably, “The Finals” marks Embark Studios' debut in the gaming industry. Founded by former Battlefield veterans, the studio brings a fresh take on the extraction shooter genre, incorporating entirely destructible environments and a diverse selection of arena maps. The game follows a free-to-play model, with optional cosmetic items that can be earned through a battle pass.
