BioWare's upcoming release, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, has been shrouded in mystery and controversy. Despite high-profile developer departures and layoffs impacting some of BioWare's longest-serving staff, the company is finally ready to unveil more about the highly anticipated game with a new trailer.
To celebrate “Dragon Age Day”, BioWare published a brief teaser for the upcoming game. While the 50-second teaser may not be visually stunning, it provides more content than all prior teasers combined. The teaser showcases distinct locales in the Dragon Age universe, including Antiva, Rivain, and the Anderfels, which have been mentioned but never visited in prior Dragon Age games. Additionally, the teaser features voiceovers from individuals representing the many groups players will encounter in the game.
At the end of the video, a strange voiceover left us a bit puzzled. While the game is expected to centre around defeating the titular “Dreadwolf”, also known as Solas from Dragon Age Inquisition, the last voice does not sound like Solas. This has led to speculation that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf may contain a new adversary we don't know yet.
Even with this trailer, we still don't know much about the game. Still, fans can look forward to a “full reveal” of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in Summer 2024.
