Konami promises that Metal Gear Online is still coming to PC

Yesterday, we heard rumours that Konami had shut down its LA based studio, the one responsible for putting together Metal Gear Solid V's multiplayer component known as Metal Gear Online- which has still yet to release on the PC. Now, Konami has confirmed that its LA studio has closed its doors for good, leaving around 20 developers out a job, though Metal Gear Online will still be coming to the PC.

In a statement sent over to Polygon, Konami said that it plans to keep supporting Metal Gear Solid V and that the game's core multiplayer mode, Metal Gear Online, will still come to the PC in 2016.

“Konami has made the decision to close its Los Angeles Studio, effective immediately, due to the product development resources being restructured into a more centralized unit. This facility contributed to the recent Metal Gear Solid games. Konami will continue its operations to support all Metal Gear Solid titles, including the recently launched Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Online. Metal Gear Online is still scheduled to release for PC Steam in January 2016.”

KitGuru Says: The situation at Konami is a little confusing. It has now supposedly shut down both Kojima Production studios but it is still planning to release MGS Online in the new year for PC and continue to support the base game. Its also a shame to see those developers out a job so close to Christmas.
