At this point, there are quite a few people out there with access to Fallout 4 already, a quick look at SteamDB will show that several people are in-game at any given time. As always, people getting the game early also results in leaks, so we now have quite a few screenshots of Fallout 4 running on the PC at ultra settings, just a week before the game unlocks for everyone.
These screenshots were taken at 1080p, put in to an Imgur album and shared on Reddit:
There are a few more in the full album, with a couple of close-up shots to show texture quality. As a reminder, the recommended system requirements for Fallout 4 include an Intel Core i7 4790 CPU, 8GB of RAM and a GTX 780 or AMD R9 290x graphics card, so they are quite high. Also, factor in things like compression when trying to judge the graphics of a game from screenshots.
Fallout 4 unlocks on the 10th of November, which is just seven days away from now. In terms of texture quality, the game doesn't appear to be breaking new ground but the new lighting system appears to be fantastic.

KitGuru Says: Fallout 4 isn't too far off now. What do you guys think of the PC screenshots?
so unimpressed
Lighting does look great but textures look questionable.
That’s not good…
very questionable, looks inferior than Call of duty 4 modern warfare textures bro.
Sure they’ve got AA turned on? Doesn’t look like they have.
thats what I thought
When I saw the houses and fences, I was like… Nuketown had better shit than this…
I am hoping like with Skyrim they will release a better texture set later on, not impressed.
I guess ambient occlusion is active under “EXTREME settings”?
It think its intentionally much like TF2, dota etc
I was going to buy the game right away but now I’m going to wait for some reviews… 😛
I’ll be gaming in 4k so it will look good, plus you can always turn up the shadow resolution out side of the game. Bethesda always leaves so many options for people who aren’t just casual gamers.
Graphics shouldn’t matter, its about quality of game play and the enjoyment right? or have i been playing games wrong?
Can’t wait. Still, looking forward to some UI mods, the interface looks a bit sparse and placeholder to me, but then I’m so accustomed to the FO3/FONV UI by this point it’s probably making me a bit biased. I hope I can still change the colour at least, that neon green hurts.
I’m a bit amazed by the persistence of people complaining that the game “doesn’t look good”, it looks pretty awesome to me. I don’t care if it’s ‘on a par with Witcher 3’ or whatever, it looks like Fallout should look, and pretty sharp at the same time. I’m glad there’s more colour too than in FO3, the insistence on sticking to the grimy greens and browns in that game seriously made it bland after not all that long. FONV is guilty of it too to an extent, but its generally more varied in every aspect, and it’s easily my favourite of the two.
what the fuck are people complaining about!? this looks insane! stop focusing solely on graphics!
Looks like AA probably isn’t turned on, though. But even if you’re underwhelmed by the current state of the graphics, I’ve got three words for you…
E…N….B
Dat toned ass tho…
The comments on reddit are pure cancer, we don’t know that this is ultra/max and they’re already calling it typical shit
Maybe graphics don’t, but aesthetic IS important. I’m not sure I want a fallout game with this aesthetic. However, gameplay (so far) looks pretty sweet so I can probably get past it.
No AA, no AF, no post processing at all. Maybe he forgot to turn it on or this is just console screenshots.
Meh… It looks okay but that’s not what’s important. The game must be good and I’m sure it is.
The texture of the character looks pretty bad. It shouldn’t be that way since it is so up close of the figure and not making any sense. I’ll leave it to its release day anyway. 😀
Graphics do not look the best of a game for 2015 :/ But hoping that the gameplay will be awesome 😀
Still, i will love to see better graphics.
Bethesda always wrestled a bit with their texture resolutions and quality, to the point where fans released a HD pack months before Bethesda themselves did.
ENB is the greatest. Completely transforms the entire Skyrim experience. I can’t wait to use it with FO4… Assuming my 970 can handle the extra load, anyway.
