  1. Android has had touch sensitivity for years… but we were smart to let the third party apps deal with it.

  2. this is hardware not software

  3. I know, but the software function is what caused the suit

  4. are you sure? I would have though patents are for hardware. The tech. Who owns that then?

  5. I wonder if they have patents on haptic feedback tech used inside Valve’s Steam Controllers and Vive wands. :/ I wouldn’t be surprised if Immersion was waiting for VR to get big and then hit them as well.

  6. I hate patents :/

  7. Nope it can be for anything slide to unlock one of apples “key” pattens has nothing to do with hardware

  8. Companies love to say that without patents they have no motivation to innovate, because they will get copied anyway. It’s a weird idea, just because you had an idea first, nobody is allowed to work based on similar ideas. It makes sense that if you work on an idea, nobody has the right to steal it. But you can’t really say people shouldn’t be allowed to make money, simply because they had the idea later or came to it in a different way.

  9. Ahh ok – I thought it sensed the pressure of your finger on the glass to give you 3d experience. This was why I thought the tech was hardware
