Ubisoft's new tactical shooter, Rainbow Six: Siege has been doing fairly well for itself with plenty of players still logging in regularly to play. However, there has been one persistent issue with the game since its launch and that is the lack of punishment for those that betray their team by resorting to friendly fire.
Ubisoft is aware of this and hopes to help fix the problem with a patch launching this week. Patch 2.2 will add a report player button to the game, we don't know exactly what happens when a player is reported for griefing but presumably, it will help kick team killers from matches.
Aside from that, there will now be a kill cam in ranked matches. A slew of other fixes are also being implemented, for starters your guns shouldn't clip through walls anymore and hit registration should actually work properly. A bunch of bugs have also been fixed on specific maps as well, with most of them focussing on the Yacht map.
Ubisoft has posted the full patch notes, which you can find, HERE. The patch should be available across the Xbox One, PS4 and PC already starting from today.
KitGuru Says: I've played quite a bit of Rainbow Six: Siege on both the Xbox One and PC but I must admit the game's hit registration and lag compensation can be frustrating to deal with at times. Hopefully, this patch will start to fix up these issues. Are any of you playing Rainbow Six still? How are you finding the game?
OK. Tried it. You get kicked off, just because you are a noob. The fact you r a noob means you get killed straightaway. Then its 5 minutes waiting till the rounds over, only to be kicked for being a noob.
Wouldn’t know about hit detection as I never get a proper game in.
A report tool for one of the most toxic communities. Great idea. I’ve put 50+hours into this game and can say it is without a doubt utter shit. I’ll check this new patch or but doubt it’ll fix the astronomically high pings.
What a stupid idea
Why not just make it so you can not kill your own team members with friendly/unfriendly fire problem solved. This report tool idea is not very bright because when you have a bunch of 13 year olds thinking they are the sh*t at games & you are a person just trying to have some fun for an hour or 2 but might not be as fast or react as fast if you are trying to learn new trick & keep getting kicked because of it well that just takes the fun out of it & is a recipe for disaster..frickin lame brain idea for sure. Glad I never got this game anything almost totally online only is a no go here who wants to play with a bunch a crying kids when you frag them to much..lol
because its suppose to be as realistic as possible…as are all tom clancy games. You tell me a modern war/conflict that hasnt had friendly fire…
How about make people who team kill often have ricochet
Great game concept (a good alternative to COD) but the, I guess you can say, mechanics are questionable.
My point was that yes they want to make it as real as possible but in the real world when in combat you pretty much don’t have to worry or shouldn’t have to at least if for your own people shooting you in the back just because you felt like doing that. In real world there is no reset button once your done you are done. In a game you reset & continue on your way so having to worry about the enemy and also your own team mates shooting you is not very realistic. This reporting & kicking theme they have has it’s good points but as stated by another poster here it can be abused as well which takes the fun out of playing the game. If you are on a team & you happen to be learning the game or just new tactics you should not have to always have to worry about being kicked from the team maybe the teammates should try to help so a lesser player can learn new tactics & have some fun while at it. In a real combat you all have to band together & work as a team so you all come out of it alive so having a report tool & kick button that can be abused is not very realistic all it does is open the game up to being abused by dick wads that think they rule the roast but the truth is if 99% of these people were put into a real fire fight they would be balled up in a little ball on the ground crying for their mommy sobbing away. I see the need for rules etc but to me this is not the right way to go. I used to get kicked sometimes from online death matches if I was fragging other players to much that I was playing against because I guess they did not like losing & would act out by being foul mouthed & poor attitude because I was racking up the kills. I would tell them stop being babies & if you want to do better maybe learn the tricks & practice the game so you can also be a good fragger..lol If I was in a team death match or capture the flag match of coarse you knew that shooting your team mates was bad & not the thing to do because they are your team…anyways just my 25 cents on this…lol
I have an idea…
How about when a teammate shoots another teammate, the one shooting takes the same amount of damage as his target does. Easy, simple, solved!
But yet, this fucking game just seems to take 2 steps back for every step ahead, and it´s not even worse than it was during the last patch.
Holy shit that the most genius idea for team killing trolls I’ve ever heard. But then with the ‘as realistic as possible’ thing going, they wouldn’t go 4it. Good idea tho.
