Razer releases Cortex: Gamecaster streaming/recording tool

Razer is looking to make it easier for you to stream or record gameplay footage with Cortex: Gamecaster, its new lightweight software that allows for game and audio capture with a sleek, unobtrusive user interface.

Using Cortex: Gamecaster, users can stream to Twitch, YouTube Gaming or even lesser known sites like Azubu. You can set up different shortcuts to start, stop or pause broadcasting and set up a scene with the game and a webcam overlay.

Razer offers a free version that allows you to stream at 1080p and 30 frames per second with a ‘BRB' screen for when you are AFK and overlay for a webcam. However, if you want to take things a little more seriously then you can upgrade to Gamecaster Pro, which costs $15 for three months or $40 per year and offers 1080p, 60 frames per second streaming.

Paying users can set their own BRB screen, have access to a software green screen effect for the webcam, can create custom overlay images and display Twitch Chat in-game. In all, it has plenty of desirable features for those looking to get into streaming.  You can download Razer Cortex: Gamecaster, HERE. 

KitGuru Says: I have dabbled in streaming myself here and there but I'm not a huge fan of OBS so it is nice to see some software with a better looking, easier to understand UI. Do any of you like to record gameplay footage or stream to Twitch?
