Square Enix will be looking into bringing Final Fantasy XV to PC

Earlier this month, a few leaks pointed towards a release date for Final Fantasy XV and now following on from Square Enix's event last night, we have confirmation that the game will finally be coming out on the 30th of September this year. However, once the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game are out of the way, Square Enix will be looking into bringing the game to PC.

To top it off, Square Enix has released a new demo for the game, showing off new mechanics and locations as well as a new trailer. While the original Final Fantasy XV demo was known as ‘Episode Duscae', this new demo is known as the ‘Platinum Demo' and it contains a side story to the game, featuring a younger version of Noctis, the new main character. You can already download it on PSN and Xbox Live as long as the servers aren't being overloaded by fans.

While there is no definitive word on the PC version of the game just yet, in an interview with Engadget Square Enix says that it will be investigating a PC version, which means we could potentially get it next year, before all focus shifts to the new Final Fantasy VII Remake. If you are interested in the game, then you can also see the new trailer titled ‘Reclaim your Throne' above.

KitGuru Says: After almost a decade of being stuck in development and going through several major changes (including a name change), Final Fantasy XV is actually coming out. Are you looking forward to it? Will you be trying out the demo?

  1. FFXIV ARR all the way. FFXV doesn’t look good to me at all…

  2. It’s great how PC is a risen phoenix. There is so few big name games we PC Master race folks miss out on these days.

People wrongly accuse PC gaming of dying off there because of piracy. Sure, it’s a problem, but you can still make lots of money on PC… just not during the years of 2004-2012, because almost all serious gamers were playing WORLD OF WARCRAFT: The Burning Cancer.

That is why PC sales died off. Everyone was playing WoW or some other MMO in this time period, and we quickly forgot about those boring AAA hollywood story games that were only fun for a weekend. We have deeper games to play don’tchya know?!

But now most of us, the PC Master Race, are getting bored of such games, because they have not innovated in as many years. So once again, and with the help of the beloved STEAM, we are once again buying all kinds of games. You CAN not only get tons of sales now, but also avoid piracy thanks to steam.

The only sad part about this, is when the world is nuked, and I survive, cause I totally have plans to survive ya know? The steam games won’t work! But the old consoles and old PC stuff will.

The first few years of my survival will be cool. Nobody around, can loot any store I want… playing games thanks to gasoline and generators… then the gas goes bad after a while and I don’t know how to install and use solar panels, so I am pretty fudged after that.

Anyone got some sweet survival tips for me, so I don’t die of boredom without my precious video games to play? My mom, can’t even get after me for not going outside to play once in a while… Cause I’d just say “there is too much radiation out there!”

  4. I loved FFVII and endured VIII which put me off the franchise for a while. However in light of all terrible games recently launched, if they mad a PC version of this i could see myself buying it.

  5. Go to Bulgaria or Switzerland before 2021 and you will surely survive a nuclear war and have an “ok” life.

And no, there is a way around steam, from now on, buy your games on GOG Galaxy. They will stay with you forever even after a couple of generations after Steam
