Earlier this month, it was reported that Insomniac had been hit by a Ransomware attack, resulting in the theft of lots of data, including details about upcoming games and the personal information of employees. Now, those behind the attack have leaked 1.7TB of the company's internal data.
We won't be sharing the leaks directly here but it is a pretty major one. Amongst the documents are roadmaps for the next 10 years, details on Insomniac's licensing deal with Marvel, full plot details for Wolverine and even a playable alpha build. Unfortunately, the personal data side is just as devastating, with employee HR documents, passport details, internal company emails, tax information and termination forms all appearing.
Many of you will remember that CD Projekt Red also suffered a significant cyberattack and major leak after the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, which slowed down progress on the game's much-needed fixes in 2021. With Insomniac keeping such a tight schedule for upcoming releases, there could be some impact there too.
Neither Sony or Insomniac have publicly commented on the leak as of yet. Given that Disney is partially wrapped up in this, they may want to talk this over with them too.

KitGuru Says: This is a massive leak and while the game side of it is major, the worst thing here is that employees will be impacted and may have to take steps to safeguard themselves.
