Kingston launches HyperX Cloud Revolver, successor to Cloud II

Kingston has really made its mark on the gaming headset world with its HyperX Cloud and Cloud II headsets, the Cloud II even won one of our 2015 KitGuru awards. However, this week, Kingston is expanding its line with the new Cloud Revolver headset, featuring a “studio grade” sound stage and new 50mm directional drivers for better audio precision.

The HyperX Cloud Revolver uses the brand's signature red memory foam and premium leatherette on the ear cups and head band to provide excellent comfort and quality for long hours of gameplay like its Cloud and Cloud II predecessors. The steel frame suspension design provides long-lasting durability and stability while the noise cancelling microphone returns and is detachable.

Much like the HyperX Cloud II, Kingston's USB extension box returns to give users easier access to the headphone/microphone port. Finally, the acoustic chamber has been redesigned with vents to allow for a more ‘open back' headphone sound with a wider sound stage.

The headset launches with a $120 price tag and will begin shipping in May.

KitGuru Says: I used a HyperX Cloud II headset for most of last year so it will be great to see if Kingston's new Cloud Revolver lives up to its predecessor. Are any of you currently in the market for a new gaming headset? What are you thinking of going with?

  1. I honestly thought this was an April Fools prank and Kingston ‘made’ a revolver at first

  2. I’ve been using the original HyperX Cloud since launch and I’m due a upgrade but I’ve been reading very mixed reviews around this Revolver headset mostly centered around comfort and the mic. It appears that the steel frame causes a lot of vibration feedback through the ear cups. Also the mic can be a bit temperamental if not placed correctly. I hope Kitguru receive their copy soon as I’m interested to see what they have to say…..even though good or bad they’ll get some type of award lol ; )
