Apple may launch 5.8-inch OLED iPhone next year

We have been hearing a lot about Apple's future iPhone 7 and iPhone 7S plans recently, with the company reportedly assigning Samsung with the task of supplying a percentage of future OLED displays. On top of that, companies like LG and Foxconn/Sharp are in the running to supply the rest. However, it looks like more changes could be coming, with a larger screen for the plus-sized iPhone.

According to a 9to5Mac report, the latest investor note from Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, claims that the 2017 iPhone will make the jump up to a 5.8-inch OLED display as well as a new form-factor.

Apparently this 5.8-inch iPhone will come with thinner bezels and a slight curve to allow more screen to fit on a device the same size as the current iPhone 6 Plus, which features a 5.5-inch display. The design will also resemble that of an iPhone 4, with Gorilla Glass on the front and back with metal on the sides.

These changes won't be arriving until the 2017 iPhone though, which means that the iPhone 7 this year may not be as huge a step forward as we have seen in the past.

KitGuru Says: It sounds like Apple is really going to be stepping things up for next year's iPhone but where does that leave us for 2016? We seem to be hearing a lot of exciting changes for next year and barely anything new about the iPhone 7 coming in September. Are any of you currently using iOS? Are you due an upgrade this year?
