Lexar launches 200GB high-performance microSD card

While SanDisk may have been the first to tout a 200GB microSD card last year, more companies are starting to catch on to the trend with Lexar becoming the latest to launch a high-performance microSDXC card offering speeds up to 95 MBps.

The 200GB capacity is a step up from the 128GB limit that we have grown used to over the last few years. This new microSD is designed for use with cameras, tablets and smartphones and is capable of capturing more than 17 hours of HD video, storing 33,000 images or 28,000 songs depending on file types.

“Professional and everyday photographers are now more passionate about shooting high-quality video on everything from digital SLRs to sports and aerial cameras. With the Lexar 200GB microSDXC UHS-I card, photographers can continue to capture and store large amounts of content on the go without having to worry about running out of space”, the press release reads.

This particular card comes with a USB 3.0 card reader and some image recovery software just in-case something goes horribly wrong. It does come with a hefty price tag though, launching at £109.99, similarly to the launch price of many of the first 128GB microSD cards.
