AMD's Radeon Technologies Group will be having an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session this week, during which new information is expected to be revealed regarding the upcoming Fury X2 dual-chip graphics card as well as the newly announced Polaris GPU architecture.
The AMA takes place on the 3rd of March, which is this Thursday and one of the moderators in charge has posted a list of topics that AMD are open to talking about during it, which include Polaris, Fury X2, FreeSync, GPUOpen, Vulkan, VR and DirectX 12. AMD will not be talking about its future Zen CPUs though as they are still ‘super secret'.
AMD's Fury X2 graphics card was actually announced last Summer and was initially due to launch late last year. Unfortunately, delays have pushed things back and now it is rumoured that AMD is holding the card back on purpose in order to time its launch with the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
AMD has also talked a little bit about Polaris already this year, with one low power chip being shown off at CES earlier this year. The first Polaris graphics cards are also expected to release this year.
KitGuru Says: Hopefully AMD will be open to shedding some light on the Fury X2 situation during this AMA as many people are pretty curious at this point. Are any of you waiting on new hardware news from AMD? Any plans to upgrade this year?
The polaris preliminary results and avaliability will be what I’m basing my upgrade time frame on. I’ll most likely upgrade to polaris once it’s widely avaliable.
I’m thinking of doing the same, or grabbing an old 300 series at clearance prices.

I always always told not to touch the gold connectors. Maybe I’ve been told wrong ?
She’s the CEO, not an engineer. One should not touch them, no. One could short some of the pins and damage the card with static electricity, but it’s unlikely. If you do touch the pins, I might recommend wiping them after to get rig of any grease or debris.
What are you talking about? The Fiji architecture is not out of date; the X2 will not be out of date.
An update to fix problems they had in those games that Amd didn’t… Yeah… Like you said… That speaks volumes… And want to know what else speaks volumes?! Your statement that says X2 is out of date… kakakkaka…. r9 295×2 has still more performance than a titanX… Get your facts right before you retard comment something…. I have an 970 and I will get rid this piece’o’shit media build card that only has 3.5gb of effective usable ddr5 memory as soon as I can.
I will be doing a Kaby lake/Polaris upgrade myself! Sorry Zen I’m sure you will be competitive at least! I have an i5-2500/660ti right now.
i always touch them before installing gpu. my hd7750 still survive to this day

Still think the i5 2500k will still be more than capable for gaming. I have mine oc 4.6 ghz. Think I’ll pick up more ram and a Polaris.

Lisa su and kaduri are playing DeathBall, the bats have spikes, and the balls are grenades, Kaduri and Su may not be good speakers, but their actions seem to be showing AMD not playing games.
The trickling coming out of AMD, is not like the AMD before Lisa Su.
Intel is asleep at the helm, and AMD has the Knife pulled. AMD prepared for dx12 early on with async compute,next. Nvidia is doing cars……..
