AOC launches AGON-Series premium gaming monitor

This week, AOC is taking on the high-end monitor market with its new monitor, the AG271QX AGON gaming monitor, featuring a 2560×1440 resolution as well as the 144Hz refresh rate that many gamers crave. It's even got adaptive sync technology equipped, so it's shaping up too be quite the performer.

This is the first monitor to be part of AOC's new AGON-series, which aim to offer plenty of premium gaming features found on higher end monitors. The AG271QX is a TN variant with FreeSync, which allows a Radeon GPU to control the refresh rate of the monitor anywhere between 30Hz and 144Hz.

AOC has included some interesting features too, including Low Input Lag mode,.which disables picture post-processing on the monitor’s electronics and, therefore, accelerates the command pass-through from mouse, keyboard and gamepad to result in immediate actions. There is also the AOC Shadow Control, which enables gamers to quickly adjust contrast in overly dark or bright areas without sacrificing the quality of well-balanced areas across the rest of the screen.

This monitor also comes with a sturdy stand that allows for height, pivot and tilt adjustments. The AOC AG271QX AGON gaming monitor launches in June with a price tag of £479.99.

KitGuru Says: We have tested plenty of AOC monitors in the past and have been impressed so it will be interesting to see how this one stacks up, particularly against other high-refresh rate 1440p monitors, which seem to be gaining a lot of traction with gamers. Are any of you looking to make the jump to a higher resolution, high refresh rate monitor this year?

  4. 2560×1440, Free Sync range of 30-144Hz with the panel itself @ 144Hz. Promise of premium and then we see it’s a TN panel; what a waste. IPS please.
