Way back in 2011, Sony's PlayStation Network suffered a major security breach which knocked the service and 70 million PS3 owners offline for 23 days. As you might imagine, a class action lawsuit was swiftly put together in the US and back in 2014, Sony made a settlement agreement to offer a free game to those that were affected by the issues back in 2011.
There was a lengthy claim form to fill out and most of the games have aged a bit but Sony is finally sending out its peace offering to claimants.
If you picked up a free game as part of Sony's voluntary ‘Welcome Back' promotion in 2011, then you will get one more if you didn't you can grab two now. Claimants can pick from a list of games including Infamous, God of War and Little Big Planet. Sony is also offering some free PSN time or credit to your PSN wallet if you don't happen to want any of the games offered.
Sony has put aside $2.75 million in total to put this lawsuit behind it.

You guys deserved it – Anonymous attacked you! However you won’t admit your mistake, would you?! You sued those who develop additional features for PlayStation!
Sony, you will be lucky not to bankrupt next time you piss off people this way, cuz next time Anonymous won’t give you any more mercy.
i’m all for sticking it to the man, but the only group truly hurt by the hack were the consumers. it was a dick move from anonymous, something knock off groups like lizard squad have been doing year after year since.

Maybe they should seek out the people that caused the blackout of the service & have them pny up the money for the free games…lol How is it totally Sony’s fault because some twats thought it was cool to mess with everyone. All Sony had to do actually is give its user the time back of the 23 days of down time to just add that to everyone’s accounts problem solved no one actually deserved free games from this all they lost was some playing time so if Sony gave that back then all is good. Besides with that down time most of the little kiddies that could not go on & act all tough online probably got to have some nice family time with their brothers & sister & parents that is also a win win..lol
