While most of us are used to monitors ranging in 24-inches to 27 or even 32-inches in size, once you step up to Ultra-HD, there is more benefit to having an even larger display hooked up to your PC. This is where Philips comes in, with its new 43-inch PC monitor, offering 4K Ultra-HD resolution and promising excellent colour accuracy.
The new BDM4350UC Philips display uses high performance panels to deliver UltraClear 4K UHD images: at 3840 x 2160 pixels. With 43 inches of 4K UHD screen space available, there is plenty of room to work on multiple windows and applications side-by-side. Philips also has a feature known as MultiView, which allows you to display four separate 1080p video sources on the screen at once.
This is an IPS screen, which ensures colour accuracy and wider viewing angles compared to TN. It also offers a 60Hz refresh rate and multiple connections including HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort and MHL for streaming from a mobile device.
Philips' new 43-inch Ultra-HD IPS monitor will be available from May onwards at around £1169.99. You can find the full specifications below:

KitGuru Says: Such a large screen running at such a high-resolution would be great for productivity and even media viewing if you happen to use your PC for that, rather than a TV. Are any of you planning on moving to 4K this year? What is the ideal monitor size for you?
Not a bad price if it comes with VESA mount capability, considering how much for example OLED TVs of the same size are. 10 bit panel too and a small bezel, lovely.

If Philips were smart then they’d give this monitor Freesync…
Not planning to move to 4K, but to 3440×1440 (21:9). The dream monitor would be a curved 38″ 5120×2160 (21:9) at 144 Hz with HDR and G-Sync. Maybe in a few years I can use such a monitor with a GTX 1280 Ti. 🙂
I really want I would really like exactly that kind of monitor as a primary monitor for productivity, however I’ll wait at least a couple of years until more similar models are available and the price drops.
you mention all this good stuff and then G-sync and GTX, why go with Nvidia? the screen will cost you around 50% extra for G-sync.
That is a extreme exaggeration. Gsync modules usually add $200 to the price tag. And they are worth it atm imho. As Freesync ranges in most monitors suck ass right now. 4k panels with ranges of 40-60hz? 144hz monitors that go from 30-90hz…jokes.
Yes, I’d love to go with AMD instead, if the maker of that hypothetical 5120×2160 panel can make its Freesync support as good. The problems with Freesync isn’t really on the AMD side, but with panel makers that don’t put enough effort into tuning it. The Nvidia advantage is that they control both sides of the cable, by putting their own carefully tuned Nvidia hardware inside of the monitor and having their own quality control before they let the monitor vendors release them. With Freesync, vendors are free to release as soon as they feel that it is “good enough” for the purpose of making money.
How do you make that up a 144hz moniter that goes 30-90?
And if your dropping lower then 30fps you have a problem anyway
Are you thick? I said FREESYNC RANGE. That is the range that Freesync will operate at. There are 144hz monitors that have a Freesync range of 30-90hz, if you go below or above that, Freesync WILL NOT FUNCTION. It is fucking stupid, yes, but it is a large problem with Freesync monitors right now. The ranges are generally shit compared to Gsync panels. Which usually go from 30 to the max refresh rate, which has gone all the way to 200hz in something like the Acer Z35’s case.
No freesync / G-Sync 🙁

Are you always such an arsehole?
Are you always so dumb? You made a stupid comment, I responded. You misunderstood, then made another stupid comment. I got annoyed. Done.
Only fool buys a new PC monitor right now, both Nvidia and ATI next gen GPUs are coming with HDR and Wide Color Gamut support which none of the existing monitors has.
The best option is to wait for such monitor or grab hi-end 4K HD TV that has low input lag and supports HDR, WC and has 10Bit panel.
Like the new Samsung 49KS8000, 49KS8500, 49KS9000 and 49KS9500, they have 20 to 23 MS Input lag when Game Mode is ON, support HDR and everything that I mentioned.
and HDR

Not fully there yet (refresh rate is lacking), but it’s getting closer…
3840x2160p is NOT 4K in any sense of the word !
also, I am looking for a 4800x2000p (24:10) or 5120x2160p (21:9) !
…NOT the traditional 4K
