Asus announces new X99 Signature and ROG Strix motherboards

It seems that several motherboard makers are preparing for the upcoming launch of Intel's Broadwell-E CPUs, as Asus has become the latest to unveil their new line-up of X99 Signature and ROG Strix motherboards.

There are several new models joining the Asus enthusiast-grade line-up including the: ASUS Signature X99-Deluxe II, X99-A II and X99-E, along with ROG Strix X99 Gaming. As always, each of these motherboards make use of Asus's exclusive features designed to take full advantage of the Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition and other E-series processors.

The big selling point is that each of these motherboards is fully ready for Intel's new Broadwell-E processors and while these haven't been ‘officially' announced yet, plenty of leaks have confirmed their existence and the fact that their launch is fast approaching. We have also seen some benchmarks for the Core i7 6820K and the ten-core 6950x.

These motherboards will start becoming available before the end of May here in the UK. These all use Socket 2011-V3 which is compatible with both Haswell-E and Intel's upcoming Broadwell-E processors.

KitGuru Says: We can expect lots of new motherboard launches over the next few months following on from the launch of Intel's new processors. Are any of you planning to upgrade to X99 this year?
