As popular as Titanfall was when the series first launched in 2014, it hasn't proven to have the staying power of a big franchise like Battlefield or Call of Duty. However, that isn't going to deter EA this winter as Titanfall 2 will be launching within three weeks of Battlefield 1 and potentially within one week of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
The maths could be a little off, as EA has yet to specify whether Titanfall 2 will launch three weeks before or three weeks after Battlefield 1- which comes out on the 21st of October this year. So Titanfall 2 is currently planned to release some time between the 30th of September and the 11th of November.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare this year comes out on the 4th of November, so Titanfall 2 will have two pretty massive shooters to compete against this holiday season. Things could potentially change later down the line, particularly now that EA isn't so opposed to delaying games. However, for now, this seems to be the plan.
KitGuru Says: I really liked Titanfall but its sequel will have a tough time going up against both Call of Duty and Battlefield within such a short space of time given how huge both franchises are. Do you guys think Titanfall 2 can hold its own releasing in the middle of Battlefield and COD?
I think it’s a bit cocky of them. But maybe it will work with the right amount coverage. BF1 will not be for everyone and COD sales has dropped since *COD: Ghost*.
BF1 will be a forward facing DX12 only title.
Cod is RIP.
This will be the dx11 shooter imo.
Think they learnt some lessons from last time.
Maybe this time it wont be a 50GB download either 😛
I don’t mind if it’s a 100gb as long as it looks rank 1
I think it would be pretty bad for people with limited data cap
fo
pay 5$ and get dvd’s sent
Just to put this in english for you. You are literally adovcating nerfing texture resolution (saving space) as to pander towards peasants with 20gb data limits….
FML i hate the modern generation
Well no everyone has the money for unlimited data use. You can blame that one on the internet companies and the countries they operate in + services like Steam and Origin gives you like 13 Mb per sec as max DL speed. So unless everyone gets fiber internet and unlimited Data I don’t think that problem is going away anytime soon
i have adsl and have no issue
Well the huge size was not because of textures. 35GB of it was uncompressed audio which meant that it was not uncompressed at run time which can actually be quite a taxing task to complete on the CPU. Alternatively I think they should have decompressed it at installation time which I believe they did in the end.
Well that is a different matter altogether so long as end product is not comprimised i see it now as just a lack of diligence in optimization.
ADSL.. that’s some old shit. What’s the speed limit on that?
It wasn’t a lack of optimization, it was supposed to be an additional optimization. Having to uncompress at runtime can take a lot of CPU usage depending on the format. I just guess they didn’t really think that some people have data caps still.
Like you said should have been done at install.
depends how close 10 down 1 up for me
On copper with 100 down and 30 up. Yet this mean jack for DL speed from game vendors. Max is 13 Mb per sec and a service like Netflix demands 5,0 megabit per sec.
If everyone got fiber internet with 50/10 with 2000 GB data per month for a god price, the digital age will a bit better for everyone.
I think they did a few months after release. Although too late at that point.
everyone should be on 100 / 50 tbh min. We should be streaming 8k HDR with high bitrates…. soon. And multiple peopel should be able to use the service in the same house.
This age is like being told you have hot water but the hot water system is only 50 Litres….
Slow times
