WildStar is finally launching on Steam this week

It has been just over a year since we first heard that WildStar would be making the jump to the free to play business model and coming to Steam. While the game made the transition to being free to play quite a while ago, the MMO's Steam debut has taken a bit longer, but is due to happen later this week.

WildStar has struggled a bit in the months following on from its launch. However, with the game landing on Steam, it may get a boost in exposure and a bit of a spike in players.

The Steam Store page is already live but you won't be able to add it to your account until the 9th of June. Right now, none of the extra premium bundles that you can buy are listed on the Steam Store but it will all be similar to what you can already find on WildStar's in-game store. Purchases include cosmetics, pets, mounts, XP boosts, currency and cooldown bonuses.

KitGuru Says: WildStar still isn't super high on the MMO radar after its switch to free to play but perhaps releasing on Steam will help boost the player numbers a little bit. Have any of you played WildStar in the past? Is it something you would recommend now that it's free?

KitGuru Games: Omni-movement culminates 30 years of FPS innovation

Black Ops 6 is officially here, bringing the innovative new Omni-movement system to the game. While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.

  1. Oh gosh is that game terrible. I would rather work my job then play that chore quest fetch game. I played in the last beta before launch and I was bored to tears within 2 hours. I came back after it went free to play hoping it had changed, it didn’t.

WILDSTAR failed, completely. All it has is a very small player-base of diehards. An abysmal mmo.

Let me give you an example of how poop this game is.
This one quest I was doing, had me playing Simon says… Yeah, no joke, you play Simon says to unlock this computer thing for a quest. I thought tera online had really boring bad questing, but BUTTSTAR takes the cake as THEE worst questchore based MMO ever made, period. This isn’t questing it’s chores. I didn’t care for WoW questing either, but this is soo much worse. I am glad I never spent a dime on this game because they would have to PAY ME to play this crap they call a video game!

The combat mainly consists of just watching the ground to see when red circles or swaths are under your character. They call this telegraphs. Does that sound fun to you? Ok ok so there is a bit more to it then just this but still…
Did you like the combat in skryim? Dark Souls? How about Crysis? Fun right? Nothing like that, it’s so much more boring then WoW classes or combat, I can’t believe how bad they botched this part of the game.
You can be an engineer! You get these big arse SHOTGUNS that… can only shoot 15 feet… Cool…. I guess… yeah?… NO!!! IT SUCKS!

And the worst thing of all..

It has like the most beautiful art ever in a game, and so impressively much of it. What a horrid waste. And the presentation is top notch AAA stuff. However, amazing polish on a turd is just amazing polish on a turd, and I think that’s the best way to sum up POOPSTAR!

Yes, the game touched me, no scratch that, VIOLATED me to such a degree, I am writing up this angry rant on some random article on the web! If you decide to try it, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Have a nice day =D

  2. As someone who played, max leveled, raided, quit and am now using the game as a glorified Sims house-maker I personally dont understand how someone who hasnt even reached max level (which doesnt take long) can judge a game merely based on this level of experience. Yeh sure it isnt the ‘WoW killer’ some said it would be and sure I am a little bored of the questing but the game has so much more to offer than just that and its free to play!

For the record I personally think telegraphs are a genius way of representing where damage is going to be taken and enables you to use your mind to avoid damage as opposed to just taking it randomly to the face like many other MMOs. Also the freedom of movement is amazing for an MMO.

You might just have a lot of free fun. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
