Kojima offers updates on DS2, OD and more

Since forming his own independent studio, Hideo Kojima has been rather busy, successfully launching 2019’s Death Stranding with at least 3 new projects currently in development. Taking to Twitter, the creator offered updates on all of the studio’s current and publicly announced projects.

Publishing a rather lengthy post to Twitter, Kojima informed fans on the current status of all his projects, saying: “This year will be another year of simultaneous production of ‘DS2’ and ‘OD’. DS2 still has some ADR [automated dialogue replacement] left, and we will start recording Japanese voice overs.”

He continued, “I want to concentrate on creating games, so I would like to limit my business trips, but I can't do nothing because I have to shoot for OD, collaborate with Avengers, make DS into a movie, and work on other video projects.”

In terms of non-gaming related projects, Kojima claimed that “In addition to production, I am also planning to add another writing series, not only for anan but also for other projects. We are also planning to run a special program on ‘HideTube’ which we have been neglecting, as a trial. We may also revive ‘Hide Radio’ in the future. So, it is going to be a tough year, but I hope to enjoy this Year of the Dragon.”

Since his departure from Konami, Kojima has seemingly managed to build a highly efficient studio allowing for multiple projects both in and outside of the games industry to be developed simultaneously. It will be interesting to see just how many of these projects end up releasing in 2024.

KitGuru says: What do you think of Kojima’s 2024 plans? Could DS2 release this year? What about OD? Let us know down below.
