SilverStone has launched a new high-end SFX-L PSU, the Extreme1200R Platinum. The upcoming high-capacity PSU is potentially the highest-wattage power supply in the SFX-L form factor, offering up to 1200W of power.
This modern power supply complies with the SFX12V 4.1 standard, equivalent to ATX 3.1, and PCIe CEM 5. It features a native 12V-2×6 power connection capable of supplying continuous power of up to 600W. The 12V-2×6 is designed to be less fragile and prone to burn-outs due to poor connections or cable bending than its predecessor.
The SilverStone Extreme1200R Platinum has a single 100 A +12 V rail and can generate up to 1200W. Certified by Cybenetics with the “Platinum” badge, the PSU has all-Japanese capacitors and comes equipped with various electrical safeguards, including over- and under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit protections. To keep the unit cool, a 120mm fluid-dynamic bearing fan is employed. The connectors include a 24-pin ATX, two 4+4 pin EPS, a 600W 12V-2×6, four 6+2 pin PCIe, eight SATA power, three 4-pin Molex, and a Berg.
The company has not yet disclosed pricing details. The new PSU will be available in Asia starting mid-January, with North American and European availability following in early February.

KitGuru says: Seeing there are not many (if any) SFX-L PSUs with such a high wattage, the Extreme1200R is at a level of its own for now.
