While Microsoft continues to refuse to bring the main-line of Halo games back to the PC, they are throwing PC gamers a little taste of Halo 5- the Forge mode to be exact. Forge mode has been a huge part of Halo over the years and allows players to create completely custom maps and game modes though there will be some limitations on the PC version.
PC players will be able to access the full custom map making mode and play their creations on PC. However, you can only play through created maps with people on your friends list, so there won't be any matchmaking at all. Nor will PC gamers have access to Halo 5's other multiplayer modes. This is also a Windows 10 exclusive, as you might expect at this point.
The software will be able to import maps made on the Xbox One and share PC maps with those on consoles. This seems to be part of the build up for Halo Wars 2, which is also coming to the PC later this year.
The best part of this news though, is that Microsoft has made the Halo 5 engine compatible with PC hardware, which does open up the door for more content later down the road. That said, at this point I wouldn't get my hopes up too high as Microsoft seems pretty adamant on not bringing the main Halo games back to the PC.

No matter how much you try Microsoft, you will not convince us PC gamers to buy your shitty trash Xbone.
I’m pretty sure XB1 isn’t aimed at those that already have a PC built for high-end gaming, it isn’t like we’re the only market worth tapping into.
so if microsoft would get theri arse out of that… and gog 1 2 3 and o.c halo 2-4 would get out to play on pc,it would be happy too. gears of war was nice on pc. xb it was somehow to hard on bosses refill of health weapons. if they skip the pc marked they would get some bad ass support for consoles only. low res now. since pc can run at 11k or put inside 2x-8k 4k. 2x 2k to get 4k screen and so on. 10x 1k to get 10 k screens.
if those who gives out games to piracy it would be nice to know that even on consoles the games get ripped ti iso easly. tpb se lives on. yeiiii.
now as you must be online to play i would be great to see old games or remakes with 4k res. even system shock 2 from gog can run 4k res textures. consoles at 1080p or 4k-16 k ?
we just want the best not low res.
