Total War: Warhammer's first DLC release may have been inadvertently leaked to the world, with a Russian trailer showing up on Youtube before any official announcement. Like Total War games of the past, it brings the blood and the gore, though this time with a very Warhammer flavour.
In the trailer for this DLC release we see trolls bashing soldier brains in, giants munching on their favourite Empire snack and Orcs exploding in pink mist as Dwarvish guns cut them to pieces. Blood and guts gameplay is in abundance in this upcoming DLC, showing that the Old World needed a good, red drenching to really feel authentic. The lack of blood was one of the most noticeable aspects of the latest Total War game, mostly because it featured brutal attacks from monstrous creatures and lords alike, but that will change following this release, which slathers the battlefield in the red stuff like its fertiliser. Although more thematic than any big addition to the game, Khorne is the Blood God and he drinks deeply as the Warhammer world's inhabitants slaughter one another.
If you're wondering why the blood in Total War games is downloadable content, potentially requiring a small investment to acquire too, it's to avoid the age rating of the game sending it out of the reach of many a young tabletop fan. With DLC blood, the age rating can remain low, making the game that bit more inclusive.
For those that want all of the gore and guts though, it's there and should be with us soon. In-fact, a big update is expected to go live for Total War: Warhammer later today, so we may well see it be made available for this coming weekend.

KitGuru Says: This looks so much better. Giants biting heads off isn't anywhere near as dramatic as it should be. Now that every drop of life will be squeezed out of the hapless soul in that giant fist before being tossed aside, my green tide can complete its warring mission much more efficiently.
