Battlefield 1 closed alpha datamine reveals new maps and modes

EA did in-fact hold a Battlefield 1 closed alpha last month and as you might imagine, the alpha has already been data-mined, revealing new details about the game that have yet to be announced. The leak includes a level by level breakdown of the campaign, a full weapons list, a gadgets list, all of the multiplayer game modes and all of the maps.

The leak comes from Lobix300 on Reddit, who has listed out all of the new information he found. Battlefield 1 will feature ten multiplayer maps at launch and seven game modes, six single player campaign ‘episodes', each of which contain a certain number of chapters and around 50 weapons.

This is a text leak so there are no pictures, but the map names give some indication as to what environments you will be playing in:

  • MP_Amiens
  • MP_Chateau
  • MP_Desert
  • MP_FaoFortress
  • MP_Forest
  • MP_Argonne
  • MP_ItalianCoast
  • MP_MountainFort
  • MP_Scar
  • MP_Suez

Multiplayer game modes include classics like Team Deathmatch and Domination but also series favourites like Rush and Conquest. Other modes include Breakthrough, Possession, Air Superiority and Behemoth. If you want to know more, the actual leak has more information on battlepacks, weapon names, camos, and other unlockables throughout the game.

KitGuru Says: There is a lot of buzz surrounding Battlefield 1 so the fact that the closed alpha was extensively data-mined shouldn't be too much of a shock. From the sounds of it, the game is going to have a decent amount of content but there is still plenty left for EA to show off on its own before release. Are any of you looking forward to Battlefield 1? Will you be picking it up later this year?

KitGuru Games: Omni-movement culminates 30 years of FPS innovation

Black Ops 6 is officially here, bringing the innovative new Omni-movement system to the game. While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.
