Computex: 8Pack shows off new Orion X PC build

Over at the Asus Republic of Gamers booth at Computex this year, we ran into 8Pack, showing off a stunning new system known as Orion X, featuring brand new Broadwell-E hardware, along with triple GTX 1080s and an impressive liquid cooling set up to boot.

In this £18,000 build you will find the brand new Intel 6950X, the ten-core monster CPU that we reviewed earlier this week. This is backed up by an Asus X99 motherboard and Corsair's Dominator Platinum DDR4 RAM.

The build currently houses three GTX 980Tis but it will be upgraded to triple GTX 1080s when 8Pack makes his way back to the UK following Computex. There is a triple loop cooling system using red, silver and grey coolants, all housed in the brand new and excellent looking Phanteks Enthoo Elite case.

The Orion X will be available through 8Pack in a few months time.

KitGuru Says: That is certainly one impressive looking system, though it will be out of reach for most with that price tag. Still, it would be difficult not to admire the amount of work and effort that goes into these builds.

Computex 2024: Palit debuts new GPUs and Lynk+ liquid cooling system

Palit had several interesting graphics card announcements at Computex this year. For starters, Palit is gearing up a new 'AquaFusion' cooler design that blends air cooling and liquid cooling to deliver even greater temperatures on powerful GPUs like the RTX 4090. We also get a look at new RTX 4080 Super Master and RTX 4080 Super Beyond Limits graphics cards, and a new prototype liquid cooling project.

  1. Have to ask… what’s being cooled by the red loop?

  2. Matthew Humpherson

Looks like it is cooling the mITX board at the bottom of the case.

  3. What even is that doing there though. If you’ve got a 6950X and triple 1080s, you DO NOT need anything else. Period.

    But like..

    Why?

  4. Barry Driffield

Only reason I can think of for the mITX set up is a media server/rendering server/ or for streaming.

  5. This PC is so fucking OP so that’s what you will need next to maximize it:
    VR: £500
    Asus PG279Q: +£670
    gaming keyboard: +£200
    gaming mouse: +£150
    gaming headset: +£200
    gaming chairs: +£200
    gaming mouse mats: +£20
also need a dehumidifier: +£200, air conditioner: +£300-1200, air Purifiers: +£100-500, network security like SonicWall etc: +£200-500, anti-virus Obama edition: +£5000 per month, comprehensive insurance for the PC and the house: +£500 per month
Now you can enjoy the fucking gaming with no doubt

  6. Did you also know that this state of the art £18,000 mega heater also doubles up as a mega computer?

  7. Sadly you’re forgetting to calculate in the cost of having to repeatedly re-apply the ego needed to be in the mere presence of this beast ^^

  8. it’s for you to work on whilst the big machine renders something. It can also be used to overclock and control the larger machine via virtual desktop.

    Or a media server 🙂

    Upto you really

  9. I see it now, I didn’t look close enough. I’d seen a review of the case already and the mITX was stood up, didn’t think to look for it lying flat!

  10. Is it Intel Core i7 6950X or 5960X?

  11. there 980tis

  12. Jesus Christ, this is definitely one for bragging rights, and just what the fuck size power supply does he have for this beast? Gotta be at least 1500 watt. And I can’t even begin to imagine the cost involved. I am seeing this post much later than when it was originally posted, only because a friend recently said something about it, but this is one, S-I-C-K build!
