Cooler Master debuts new MasterBox 5 mid-tower chassis

Cooler Master's latest case release is an impressive blend of style and customisation with the MasterBox 5. “You decide the inside,” is its tag line, because there are a heap of mounting options for storage bays, masses of space for coolers and radiators, cable management hooks and sleeves and a bunch of holes to make installing components that bit easier.

Of course though with all of that effort put into making the interior of the MasterBox 5 look good, there's a big side-window to let people see all of your hard work. There's also a couple of colour options for the exterior, letting you sport a black or dual tone paint job, which comes with both black and white panelling.

Cooler Master hopes this case encourages more people to consider the clean lines and improved airflow of a well managed case interior. By adding holes to install your graphics card through, a power supply cover and a number of conveniently placed cable routing holes and hooks, keeping everything neat and tidy should be a breeze.

The same goes for mounting cooling solutions. There is space for up to two 120mm fans at the front and a single 120mm at the rear, or you can opt for a 280mm radiator at the front for your own liquid cooling solution. That can actually be extended to 360mm, but you will need the optional bracket that Cooler Master provides.

The case also supports every motherboard standard from mini-ITX, right up to E-ATX, so whatever system you have, you should be able to slot your hardware into the MasterBox 5 – even if it isn't the biggest chassis out there.

The Cooler Master MasterBox 5 will be widely available in the UK by the end of July, priced at £60 inc. VAT for both models.

KitGuru Says: This is a nice looking chassis and all of those customisation and easy-mounting systems are a nice addition. Cable management is easy with some tape and cable ties, but it's always nice to be able to tidy up cabling without resorting to that.
