Radeon RX470 and RX460 game performance detailed in slide leak

While AMD announced the its new RX 470 and RX 460 graphics cards some time ago, neither card is available just yet and reviews haven't surfaced. However, it looks like we now have the official specs for each card, along with some performance numbers from AMD's own tests on several popular games including Doom, Fallout 4, Grand Theft Auto V and Overwatch.

The benchmark numbers come from presentation slides leaked by Videocardz. While the leak doesn't give us the full system specs for the benchmark runs, we do know that AMD ran these games at 1080p, using Ultra settings. The RX 470 scored: 64 frames per second in Battlefield 4, 107 frames per second in DOOM, 77 frames per second in Fallout 4, and 66 frames per second in Hitman.

The RX 460 is being pushed as a quiet and efficient card for eSports games, so it wasn't tested across the same library as the RX 470. Once again, we don't have the full system specs and this time, we aren't even sure what in-game graphics settings were used, aside from the 1080p resolution. The RX 460 scored: 102 frames per second in Dota 2, 170 frames per second in CSGO,  109 frames per second in Overwatch, 96 frames per second in Rocket League and 74 frames per second in GTA V (which we know is not an eSports title).

As far as specifications go, the RX 470 sports 32 Compute Units, 2048 Stream Processors, a 1208MHz boost clock speed, 128 Texture Units, 32 ROPs and 4GB of GDDR5 memory, though 8GB options may be made available in the future. The RX 460 on the other hand has 14 Compute Units, 896 Stream Processors, a 1200MHz boost clock, 48 Texture Units, 16 ROPs and 4GB or 2GB of GDDR5 memory.

KitGuru Says: Given this presentation slide leak, we can't be too far off of the official retail release for these two GPUs. Are any of you looking to pick up a new graphics card this year? Are you aiming for something budget-friendly, or are you jumping into the high-end?
