No Man’s Sky launches on PC in a few hours

No Man's Sky may already be out on the PlayStation 4 but there are still plenty of PC gamers waiting for the game to unlock on Steam. Fortunately, Hello Games has announced the exact times that the game will be downloadable on Steam in the UK, Europe and US.

No Man's Sky was originally supposed to launch on the PC at the same time as the PS4 but it was pushed back a few extra days at the last minute.

Anyway, without further ado, here are the unlock times for No Man's Sky:

  • UK: 6pm BST
  • US: 1pm EST, 10am PST
  • Europe: 7pm CEST

While we have all seen the PS4 version of No Man's Sky already, we don't know much about the PC version or what sort of options it will have. However, we will be taking a deep dive in to the PC version once it unlocks, so keep an eye out for our game analysis.

  1. One Man’s Lie kinda ruined this game for me, I have 5 friends who were waiting for this game because of Sean Murray’s hype during interviews that you would actually be able to interact with other players – two have refunded already I’m sure the rest are going to follow once it’s launched.

Hello Games really dropped the ball on this one, a game like this without even basic co-op with friends? The lies from Sean aside they’ve missed out on a HUGE opportunity with this game, maybe it will be good but what’s the point without being able to play it with friends?

  2. It was made clear on multiple occasions that this WASN’T a game with a multiplayer focus and although we would be all using the same shared server, the space was so vast that interaction wasn’t something they were expecting to be a common occurrence. If you’ve watched/read interviews with Sean Murray you’ll already know this to be true. It’s a solo-space exploration game; that’s all it was ever marketed as.

  3. If you’ve wathced/read interviews with Sean Murray you’ll already know he has repeatedly said that you would be able to see and interact with other players in the game, but the likelihood of meeting one would be extremely low as a result of the size of the universe.

It’s not a case of misinterpretation, he was directly asked in an interview “Will you be able to play with your friends?” His reply was “Yes”. But you can’t.

But like I said, his lies aside, what’s the point of a game like this if you can’t play with friends.

  4. A game like what? I’m not sure what you mean; what is it about this game that needs co-op? A sandbox game where the goal seems to be to just explore and get lost (and be awed by the vastness of a universe). From what I understand from the reviews so far, the problem is that it lacks gameplay, and co-op would not make that much better.

Obviously aside from the fact that co-op makes almost every game better, as we’re social animals and we like playing with other members of our ingroup.

  5. It’s much more worth giving your money towards a $60 package to get Star Citizen PU and Squadron 42 single player/co-op campaign than to spend the same amount of money for a game that is only targeted as a single player. If I wanted survival game, Id play Ark Survival. You know how fun survival games are with friends, single player survival like this fails in all ways to interest me, it has to have a very nice storyline in order to do so – and in this case I would even go and say that FREELANCER (a game from Chris Roberts from 2003) is HELL OF A LOT BETTER than this crappy single player survival targeted No Man’s Sky that looks like a freaking cartoon.FREELANCER’s got a story line missions, it’s got its multiplayer that is still kept going BY ITS COMMUNITY! What the hell was their problem for not implementing at least a co-op? For me, HelloGames, that’s a fail, a big one. I hope you learn from your mistake. I haven’t read the reviews yet, hope the game is good on PC and has enough content to play around with…cuz otherwise you’ve basically lost 4 years for something that would fail.
