Pokémon Go not cutting it? Try Pokémon Uranium instead

If like many gamers young and old around the world, Pokémon Go has given you the itch to try your hand at becoming a Pokémon Master once again, it was well timed. A new fan-made Pokémon game, Uranium, has just been released, complete with new story, pocket monsters, abilities and a whole new region to explore.

Pokémon Uranium is a real labour of love for the developers, who put it together in RPG Maker XP over the past eight years. It's a monster project with over 150 different species of Pokémon, some new, some old, a new type: Nuclear, which is super effective against everything, but weak to everything too and a new story to immerse yourself in. Players start out in the world as a 13 year old who's guardian can no longer look after them, so you take on a research job and begin collating data on local Pokémon. From there, as you earn badges and explore, you travel throughout the detailed Tandor region, which was lovingly crafted with details drawn from a number of cities and country's around the world.

There are side quests to take part in, plots to foil and a rival to beat as always, and there's even some Mega Evolutions to play with if you have the right stones in battle.

As you might expect for such a project, this initial launch has been rather popular. So much so in-fact, that the the download servers have completely crashed. You can still find up to date information on the official Twitter account though and download the game from its Mega page.
