Ahead of CES 2024, Lexar has unveiled its new line-up of hardware. Launching at the show next week will be a slew of new PCIe 4 and PCIe 5 SSDs for modern gaming systems, as well as a new mini SSD option for gaming handhelds. Lexar also has its hands in professional storage, with bespoke options for photographers and videographers.
At CES, Lexar will showcase its new Professional CFexpress 4.0 Type-B Card Diamond series. Harnessing the capabilities of PCIe Gen 4 technology, this series boasts a maximum read speed of 3600 MB/s and a maximum write speed of 3300 MB/s, making it one of the fastest cards of its type in the market. Moreover, the company will also show the Professional CFexpress 4.0 Type-A Card Gold series, with maximum read speeds of 1800 MB/s and write rates of 1650 MB/s.
Continuing with the professional-oriented products, Lexar is introducing the Professional Gold microSD UHS-II cards, which GoPro recommends for use with their action cameras. Offering maximum read speeds of 280 MB/s and maximum write rates of 180 MB/s, these cards have capacities of up to 256GB. Lastly, there's the Armour 700 portable SSD, featuring a rugged design to withstand the harshest settings and maximum read and write rates of 2000 MB/s.
Lexar is also introducing its first PCIe 5.0 SSD, the Professional NM1090 M.2 PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSD (with heatsink), capable of delivering maximum read and write speeds of 12,000 MB/s and 11,000 MB/s. Lexar will also showcase the NM800 Pro M.2 2280 NVMe SSD (already available) and its most recent edition, which incorporates an integrated heatsink and has up to 8TB of storage.
Lastly, Lexar is introducing the Play M.2 2230 PCIe 4.0 SSD for portable gaming consoles and M.2 2230 compatible laptops. It has maximum read speeds of 5200 MB/s and maximum write rates of 4700 MB/s and benefits from SLC dynamic cache to make load times and downloads quicker. Besides storage, Lexar is also demonstrating the Ares RGB DDR5 memory at CES 2024, clocking up at 8400MHz with timings as low as CL40.
