Google kickstarted Android Nougat's development a lot earlier than expected this year and back in June, one of the final beta releases for the OS came out. Now, it looks like Android Nougat is ready for its public release, which could happen next week according to new reports.
Apparently, Android Nougat will first start rolling out on the 22nd of August, kicking off with the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. This is according to Canadian carrier, Telus, which listed the update for that date. Android Central was the first to spot the date and it is worth noting that Telus also gave the release date for Android Marshmallow last year.
Google hasn't confirmed this release date but it was probably planning an announcement for Monday, ahead of the scheduled rollout. Eventually, Google will also release some new Nexus devices that will launch with Nougat installed. We will also likely start to hear about rollout plans for the update from big phone makers like Samsung, HTC and LG soon.
