MSI’s VR boost kit makes connectivity more convenient

The Oculus Rift and HTC Vive VR headsets are now readily available and ship within days. However, the setup process can be a bit fiddly and not everyone is going to want VR sensors and headsets taking up desk space on a permanent basis. This is where MSI's new VR Boost Kit comes in, which makes connectivity much more convenient.

The MSI VR Boost Kit is a 5.25-inch bay device that gives you two extra USB 3.0 ports and a HDMI input from the front of your PC case, which is perfect for something like the Oculus Rift that only requires two USB 3.0 ports and a HDMI connection. This will also save you from routing cables round the back of your case every time you want to dive in and play around in VR.

The kit itself should be compatible with most motherboards and any case that has slots for drive bays. Using the MSI gaming app, users can also access a one-click optimisation function that will help boost system performance for virtual reality gaming.

Pricing and availability information will be available at a later date.

KitGuru Says: While the kit doesn't do much to boost VR, it does make connectivity for sensors and the headset itself far more convenient than before, which might be valuable to those who like to keep their setups fairly clutter free. Are any of you currently planning to pick up a VR headset? Will you be making any upgrades to your PC for the occasion?
