Corsair launches new Carbide Air 740 case

Corsair has just introduced the latest addition to its PC case lineup with the new Carbide Air 740, an extra wide, dual-chamber chassis that aims to provide the best air flow. This case is Corsair's follow-up to the Carbide Air 540, which went on to become very popular over the years.

The Carbide Air 740 introduces some brand new features, including a dual-chamber design that splits your system's hardware into two compartments. The main chamber will be for all of your main heat-generating components like the CPU, motherboard, RAM and graphics card, while the secondary chamber mounts your power supply and storage drives.

By removing the 5.25-inch drive bays that featured on the Carbide 540, Corsair has managed to make room for even more cooling options, allowing for up to eight 120mm cooling fans. There is also space for a 360mm radiator and a 240mm radiator if you want to make the jump to custom water cooling.

Here are the exact specs from Corsair:

  • Dual-chamber Direct Airflow Path design.
  • Industrial-style ergonomics and space-saving internal design.
  • Includes three custom Air Series AF140L intake and exhaust fans.
  • Amazing cooling expansion room for up to eight 120mm or seven 140mm fans, a 240mm/280mm top radiator, 240mm/280mm floor radiator, and 240/280/360mm front radiator – all at once.
  • 8 x Expansion slots: Can house up to 4 graphics cards.
  • I/O Port: 2 x USB 3.0, headphone and mic.
  • Dimensions: 426mm x 340mm x 510mm.

You will be able to pick up the Corsair Carbide Air 740 at retail fairly soon for £134.99 here in the UK. We will have our own review up of this case quite soon too, so keep an eye out for that.

KitGuru Says: It might not be the most compact case in the world but it offers a ton of room for cooling configurations. Have any of you used one of Corsair's Carbide Air cases before? Are you thinking about picking the Air 740 up for a new build?
