It looks like Nvidia is going to be expanding its mid-range GPU range soon with the introduction of the GTX 1050. While the card hasn't been officially announced as of yet, its specifications have appeared on the web, pointing to a GP107 GPU.
The leak itself comes from Benchlife, who managed to obtain a GPU-Z screenshot of the card. The GTX 1050 is said to use the GP107-400, with 768 CUDA Cores, 4GB of VRAM with 112.1 GB/s of bandwidth, 32 ROPs and 64 TMUs.

So far, we don't know if the GTX 1050 will get a reference/founder's edition, or if we will only be seeing custom cards from partners so clock speeds may vary. However, the GTX 1050 captured in this screenshot runs at 1316MHz base and boosts up to 1380MHz, indicating that it perhaps doesn't have as much overclocking potential as other Pascal cards, like the 1060, 1070 and 1080.
The final little bit of information the report gave us is that the GTX 1050 is due to be released around mid-October.

KitGuru Says: If you are currently looking to build a low-budget gaming system, then it may be worth waiting a few weeks to see how the GTX 1050 turns out, assuming the rumoured release window is accurate. Are any of you currently shopping around for a new graphics card? What are you leaning towards at the moment?
So same CUDA cores as GTX950, same 128-bit interface, very similar memory bandwidth (105.6 vs 112). A boost in the 1300MHz range versus 1100GHz, making GTX1050 an overclocked GTX950 using less power.
Not that I agree with the idea of rebranding the same thing to keep prices high (cough cough Corsair Lux) but if all you’re needing is a 50 series graphics card then there’s probably nothing that needs to be changed
I’m sure nVidia is using a shrunk GPU, so the choice to use the same specs didn’t just a rebrand, but to do what works is a business tactic. That said, yeah, it’s just a GTX950 Green Edition.
4gig for a 1050, but only 3gig on the lower end, higher gxt 1060
why did they even bother with a GTX 1060 3 gig model when the GTX 1050 will be based 4 gig… shurgs…

The 1060 3GB model was a poor attempt at competing with the RX480, I can’t imagine anyone buying the 3GB model….
