At TwitchCon 2023, Dell Alienware teased two new gaming monitors, the AW3225QF and the AW2725DF. These QD-OLED gaming monitors have been officially unveiled at CES 2024, allowing the company to share more details about them.
The AW3225QF is the world's first 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor with Dolby Vision HDR and was recognised as a 2024 CES Innovation Award honouree. With a fast 240Hz native refresh rate, 1000 nits of peak brightness, and a 0.03ms G2G response time, you can expect top-level performance. The Dolby Vision HDR technology and the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification also ensure you'll experience a more realistic image with greater brightness, broader contrast, vibrant colours, and more detail.
The AW3225QF is Nvidia G-Sync compatible and supports VESA Adaptive-Sync technology. The monitor also supports HDMI 2.1 FRL (Fixed Rate Link), enabling gamers to reach 120 Hz at 4K when plugging the latest gaming consoles, as well as VRR and auto-low-latency for increased responsiveness. There is a console mode that uses source-based tone mapping to optimise HDR performance. At the same time, eARC support enables the usage of Dolby Atmos speakers or any other soundbar with an eARC connector without the need for extra optical wires that disrupt your aesthetic.
But that's not all. Dell Alienware has also unveiled the AW2725DF, a smaller version of the AW3225QF. The AW2725DF has a 27-inch QD-OLED display panel with a QHD resolution and a refresh rate of 360 Hz. The display supports VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 and has a G2G response time of 0.03 ms.
This model has AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA AdaptiveSync technology, eliminating tearing and reducing stutter. Its gamer-centric design includes a fully adjustable ergonomic stand for any desktop layout and a minimalist hexagonal base that gives gamers extra space for their accessories. The 360-degree cooling vents provide maximum airflow for lengthy gaming sessions.
The two monitors feature a three-layer Quantum Dot structure that combines blue self-emitting pixels with a layer of QD nanoparticles on top to generate the other colours on the screen. The AW3225QF and AW2725DF have an infinite contrast ratio, providing exceptional colour detail and judder-free video playback. They cover up to 99.3% of the DCI-P3 gamut and come factory-calibrated with a Delta E < 2. Moreover, they also feature Dell's ComfortView Plus, a TUV-certified built-in hardware solution that eliminates harmful blue light while maintaining accurate colours.
The AW3225QF and AW2725DF have a three-year limited OLED burn-in hardware warranty and will be available starting today. The Dell Alienware AW3225QF will go for $1,199.99, and the AW2725DF will cost $899.99.
