CES 2024: Phison details new controllers to power next-gen storage devices

Phison is pushing the limits of low-power and high-performance storage devices with its new range of PCIe and USB controllers. From enterprise NAND flash storage to portable handheld gaming system upgrades, Phison has it covered, offering a growing range of controllers for drives and devices in all market segments.

At CES 2024, Phison will be showcasing its latest solutions, designed to address the need for low-power data storage and NAND storage solutions. Starting with the Phison PS5031-E31T, it's a low-power PCIe 5.0 controller with a 4-channel DRAMless design for mid-range PCIe 5.0 solutions, offering up to 10.8 GB/s of bandwidth and 8 TB of maximum capacity.

If you need increased capacity and accelerated performance, a PCIe 5.0 E26 controller with I/O+ technology like the Phison PS5026-E26 Max14um is the way to go. This controller is Phison's most powerful device in its class, with 14GB/s+ sequential read performance. Moreover, it was tested on PCMark 10 and 3DMark Storage Tests, where it scored over 1000MB/s, making it the world's first controller to achieve this milestone.

For the next generation of low-power, high-performance PCIe Gen4 SSDs in a 2230 form factor (suitable for gaming handhelds), Phison is launching the PS5027-E27T controller. Lastly, Phison PS2251-21 (U21) is the world's first USB4 single-chip solution for small portable devices in conventional and unconventional form factors. It delivers up to 4GB/s of performance in a compact form factor.
