New Alienware 13 claims to be ‘world’s first’ 13-inch VR notebook

Alienware has gone ahead and released what it claims to be the world's first 13-inch virtual reality notebook. The newly released Alienware 13 features Nvidia's GTX 10-series graphics cards and an Intel CPU, all packed into a portable design with a practical price point.

The Alienware 13 has undergone a slight redesign, with innovative use of materials allowing for a stronger, more durable notebook than ever before. However, the new Alienware 13 is also thinner than its predecessor, all while improving thermal management for peak performance.

This is Alienware's smallest notebook but it does feature some big improvements. For starters, it features a quad-core Intel processor, whereas previous models were limited to dual-core CPUs. These processors are overclockable too thanks to Alienware's new Dynamic Overclocking technology, which will ensure you are getting the highest levels of performance possible under the right conditions.

Nvidia's GTX 10-series graphics chips are the true star of the show though, delivering excellent performance at 1080p and even QHD. The new Alienware 13 comes equipped with a GTX 1060 and can be configured with either a 1080p TN or IPS display, or if you have the cash for it, you can upgrade to a 1440p OLED display instead.

The Alienware 13 will be available from today, with prices starting at $1199 in the US. The OLED display version bumps the price up to $2099.
