The OCUK Racing Series gives you the chance to drive around the Bedford Autodrome Circuit

If you've ever wanted the real racing car experience, then you may want to keep an eye on the Overclockers UK Racing Series, the company's first virtual reality contest that will end in the winner getting the chance to drive a real, non-virtual car around at the Bedford Autodrome Circuit. This competition will double as a Project Cars tournament, with participants invited to head over to Overclockers HQ to test their skills in the dedicated VR room.

Partnered with Intel and XFX, Overclockers UK's Racing Series will utilise the HTC Vive headset, alongside 2015's number one racing simulator, Project Cars, which was developed by Slightly Mad Studios and offers authentic handling and an impressive amount of graphical detail.

Those who take part and prove themselves in the virtual world will get the chance of a lifetime at the Bedford Autodrome Circuit, where PalmerSport will be giving the Racing Series winner the opportunity to drive  the JP L-M, Formula 3000, Caterham Pursuit, BMW M3 and the Ariel Atom.

The OCUK Racing Series qualifying rounds will kick off at Overclockers HQ on the 3rd of December. There will be another qualifying round taking place between January and March, with a third round taking place between April and June. The Grand Finale will be taking place at the Bedform Autodrome in July- all participants that make it to this round will be offered a full catering service.

Entry to this competition is free though some restrictions do apply. Those looking to take part must be at least 21 and have had a UK driver's license for at least one year. Competitors will also need to be under 18 stone and between 5′ and 6′ 4″ due to vehicle restrictions.

You can find Overclockers HQ at 5 Lymedale Cross, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. Even if you don't want to enter the competition itself, you could always head over for the day to experience VR free of charge.
