No Rest for the Wicked early access launch delayed

Moon Studios, the developers behind Ori and the Blind Forest and its sequel, Will of the Wisps, is returning this year with a brand new IP. No Rest for the Wicked was originally supposed to launch into Early Access imminently but unfortunately, the launch has since been postponed.

According to Take-Two Interactive's recent earnings report, No Rest for the Wicked's release date has been pushed back to “Q1 Fiscal 2025”, corresponding to April, May, and June of 2024. In an interview with Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, he confirmed to IGN that the game's release has been delayed by a quarter. He stated that the developers wanted to give the game a little more polish to make it the best it can be. However, no specifics were provided about the reason for the delay.

No Rest for the Wicked is Moon Studios' next project. Announced at the Game Awards last year, the isometric ARPG is quite different from the Ori games. The game takes place in the fictional kingdom of Isola Sacra, where a plague and political power struggle are causing havoc. Players will traverse Isola Sacra, battling monsters alone or with up to three other players in online co-op.

While the intended release for early access was solely for PC, the game is set to debut on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Fans can expect more information about the game in a special “Wicked Inside” digital exhibition scheduled for March.

KitGuru says: If it's to improve the game, postponing its launch is probably for the best. Gamers already had their fair share of bad games due to rushed launches.
